Affordable Housing

Everyone deserves a safe and stable home, and that means tackling rising rents and building more housing that working families can actually afford.

I will push to cut red tape for projects that include affordable units, convert vacant motels and offices into housing, and expand protections that keep renters and small landlords stable.

The reality is simple: families across our Desert-Mountain region are paying more than they can afford just to keep a roof overhead.

More than half of renters are “rent-burdened,” with many spending over 30% of their income on rent. Homelessness has risen as housing supply falls short. Local cities are planning thousands of new units, but they need state support to meet the challenge.

My approach combines new construction, adaptive reuse, and tenant protection, while ensuring growth is tied to water, roads, and public safety so our communities can keep pace.
