Public Education

Public schools are the foundation of opportunity. When they’re strong, communities thrive. Our district’s schools face steep challenges, including large class sizes, outdated facilities, and achievement gaps that hold students back before they ever get a fair shot.

When they’re underfunded and overstretched, everyone pays the price.

Only 14% of students in Palmdale are proficient in math, far below the state average. Teachers are stretched thin, schools lack basic infrastructure like functioning air conditioning, and students lose ground early without sufficient support. Yet we have incredible potential in our local community colleges, aerospace and healthcare employers, and clean energy industries that are eager to hire skilled workers.

I’ll fight for smaller class sizes, more counselors and support staff, and expanded career and technical education programs that link students directly to good jobs. I’ll push to strengthen early childhood education, expand dual-enrollment opportunities, and ensure funding reaches classrooms, not just bureaucracies. Every child deserves a fair chance to succeed, and every teacher deserves the tools to make it happen.

That is what I will fight for in Sacramento.
